Pony is such a great place! It has wonderful vibes. It feels like a nice community space. Summer was my stylist! I'm so glad I was able to get into her schedule. I don't normally know what to do with my hair or how to style it because it seems kind of bland and just blah! But summer gave me a cut that has texture, some fun almost bangs pieces in the front, but also cut my hair so it doesnt need a ton of management. Which was exactly what I wanted. Something different and updated, but not too different to ease me into more stylish haircuts

My experience at Pony with Nicole has been great. She offers ideas about what will work with my thin hair, if I propose cuts that won’t work she gives me candid feedback and collaborates to come up with more appropriate ideas. Her cuts are fabulous and she spends time showing me how to style my hair. And on top of that. I really enjoy talking with Nicole and find the entire staff friendly and helpful.

Pony a great salon!! Talented, kind and welcoming stylists. The team is creative with excellent techniques. Since moving to the Bay from NYC, I sometimes struggle to find stylists who can help me bring my hair visions to life (I’ve been growing out a pixie for a while!) while also delivering technically excellent cuts - Hannah is wonderful and I’d highly recommend her. The space itself is clean, bright and cool, and the team uses quality products from smaller businesses, which I loved. I went in with a grown out shag that needed some help and left with a sharp, chic bob, with plans for my next cut and style. Couldn’t be happier.

Everyone was super friendly and the space was beautiful and well taken care of. The shampoo was thorough and I enjoyed the smell of their products too. Paying and tipping was also very easy (they have Venmo codes for all the stylists posted where you pay). Pamela did a great job with my hair and was very fun and easy to talk to! I’d highly recommend her and give her 5 stars. The only thing I was sad about was that almost no one was wearing a mask during a COVID surge.

Best salon experience, yet. They welcome black curly hair by the wayyyyy (I’m Eritrean; East Africa). Response to my peace of mind, I was received with warmth and kindness. Michelle, the Salon Manager linked me with the lovely, talented, passionate, Jafra. My hair was in its most virgin and healthiest state, thanks to the pandemic. I have been eagerly looking to get blond highlights. Showed Jafra my vision at our consultation meet. It was easy peasy for her to accomplish, and did so beautifully. With great focus and precision in her craft and care. What I got is called balliage. Great experience through and through. I was well pampered and loved throughout my visit. Jafra gave me lots of practical tips on ways and tools to take care of my hair. My hair did not feel dry to look, to feel, to touch as one would expect after being penetrated with chemicals. Not this time. Though you have to do your part to maintain to keep it all healthy anyway so do not put it all on the stylist :). To my relief my curls are bountifully bouncy and healthy looking/feeling. The actual salon space is beautifully curated. Street parking is accessible. The beautiful humans that work here know what they are doing down to the follicle. This look gave me a reason to look at the mirror longer again, with love and admiration. Thank you, Jafra. I’ve been going to Pony since they opened up again in 2020 and my only regret is that I didn’t find them sooner. Misty has been my stylist the whole time and I have never looked cooler in my entire life! She has a great eye for cutting curly hair, and always gives me such an amazing cut that looks great everyday with little effort on my part and that grows out really well until my next cut. All the other people I’ve interacted with Pony have also been lovely and helpful. Pony’s new space on Telegraph is also gorgeous.
